Second Saturday Talk About SME Finance

                The workshop on ""SME Financing and Financial Policy"  by Dr Set Aung, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar ,was held on 20th December , 2014 at Department of Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Ministry of Industry, No.35 (B)/ 15, New University Avenue, Bahan Township, Yangon Region.

              For the purpose of promoting much knowledge for SMEs Financing  and all-round developing for financial policy in Myanmar  was launched cooperation between Department of Small and Medium Enterprises Development and GIZ. On the occasion, Deputy Director General Daw Aye Aye Win , Directorate of Inspection and Supervision Industries(D.I.S.I), Ministry of Industry delivered an opening speech Mr.Thomos Foerch ,Head of Project in Financial Sector Development (GIZ) gave an opening address .

              This workshop also discussed about topic on  SME Financing and Financial Policy for SMEs in order to have a glance at Current practice in SME bank-Financing ,to examine Problems in SME financing and to discuss Measures taken to promote SME financing and financial policies in Myanmar.

              The workshop was attended by 233 participants including  SMEs entrepreneurs  and officials from Ministry of Industry and from private sector throughout  Myanmar.The workshop power point slide  of Dr Set Aung was posted in  order to  download .

Third Saturday Talk About SME Logistics

     The department for SME Development and GIZ ,German Agency for International Cooperation, have jointly organized the Saturday SME Talk series. The talk is the third event of the series and around the topic of logistics strategy for SMEs in ASEAN Economic Community .It is open to everyone who is interested in SME logistics.

The talk mainly focuses on current situation of transport and logistics in Myanmar and the future role of SME logistics, given that the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) will be implemented by the end of 2015 .The speaker ,Captain Aung Khin Myint , is a known expert in the field ,with extensive professional experience as the Chairman of Global Multimodal Transport and Services Co.Ltd and Chairman of Myanmar International Freight Forwards Association.He has vast experience in multiple streamlining projects and also earned his Executive Master of Business Administration and various diplomas including Maritime Law ,Multimodal Transport ,and Shipping and Port Management.The objective of the third Saturday SME Talk is

·         To discover the efficient means of handling and storing of SME products

·         To generate the idea of SME product production and distribution in AEC

·         To examine the constraints of inbound and outbound logistics

The Saturday SME Talk series was launched  since  2014 ,with the first talk is “ Promoting Entrepreneurship and Innovative SMEs” by Dr. Aung Tun Thet and the second talk is “ SME Financing and Financing Policy ”.Now the talk is the third time of the Saturday SME Talk and the participants in total are 155 and  SMEs entrepreneurs  and officials from Ministry of Industry and from private sector throughout  Myanmar attended .The workshop power point slide  of Capt.                              The workshop on ""Developing HR for SMEs by Professor U Aye Kyaw , Principal (MHR),Program Director (CSIS) ,was held on 20th JUNE , 2015 at Department of Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Ministry of Industry, No.35 (B)/ 15, New University Avenue, Bahan Township, Yangon Region.

              For the purpose of promoting much knowledge  about Human Resource  developing for SMEs   in Myanmar  was launched cooperation between Department of Small and Medium Enterprises Development and GIZ. On the occasion, Deputy Director General Daw Aye Aye Win , Directorate of Inspection and Supervision Industries(D.I.S.I), Ministry of Industry delivered an opening speech .

              This workshop also discussed about topic on the important of  Human resource in SMEs  and developing HR for SMEs in order to promote the Awareness in  the important HR for Sustainable Development in SMEs  ,to retain the successful relationships  between Owners and Employees  and to discuss Measures taken to promote SME HR  and developing  International practices HR management . The workshop was attended by 180 participants including  SMEs entrepreneurs  and officials from Ministry of Industry and from private sector throughout  Myanmar.

Developing SMEs Brand

The Department for SME Department and GIZ ,German Agency for International Cooperation, have jointly organized the Saturday SME Talk series.The talk is the fifth event of the series and around the topic of developing SME Brands.It is open to everyone who is interested in SME Brands.

The talk mainly focuses on maintaining and enhancing the strength of brand through strategic brand management and aiming to establish the identity of SME products. The speaker , Sayar Aung Chit Khin ,is a known expert in the field ,with extensive professional experience in Sales and Marketing ,Public Relations and Branding .He is a founder of Strategy First Institute and leading the Institute with a focus on sustainable and responsible business practices .He earned his Master of Business Administration from University of Nottingham, United Kingdom and various diplomas in Marketing.

The objective of the fifth Saturday SME Talk is

·         To highlight the Brand as the most important aspect of SME

·         To discuss the general characteristics of successful SME Brands

·         To build a strong Brand Identity for SME

The Saturday SME Talk series was launched in 2014,four Saturday SME talks have been implemented by well known technical experts in 2014-2015.These very fruitful events were attended by more than 500 people and concluded in a very interactive discussion.
